FIRST LEGO League

FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Challenge is an international STEM competition to inspire kids ages 9-14 about engineering. Each year, FIRST creates a new challenge for teams to brainstorm ways to solve its many obstacles using LEGO parts.

Each year, teams are challenged to conduct an innovation project in which they have to: Identify a problem based on the annual theme. Design and research an innovative solution to the problem.

This year's challenge, SUBMERGED, is centered around marine biology and exploring the complex layers of the ocean. By participating in FIRST LEGO League, children will be inspired to learn not only more about engineering but also the many themes that surround their challenge each year.

Questionable Engineering is starting a new FLL team, Ducktape, designed to bring engineering to students around Hudson County even if their schools don’t provide a FIRST program. Ducktape is a community-based team, therefore kids from around Hudson County will be able to participate in the program. Students on Ducktape will be mentored by professionals in the engineering industry and Questionable Engineering students.
