Our Story
Questionable Engineering was established in May of 2022 by a group of passionate students who wanted to compete in FIRST Robotics Competitions. With no local teams in Hudson County available for them to join, there was only one solution: create a FIRST Robotics Competition team.
They have recently ended their robotics season competing at the highest level at the FIRST Championship in Houston, Texas two years consecutively. Questionable Engineering has won 14 awards, including one of the most prestigious awards, the Engineering Inspiration Award, which recognizes a team that promotes STEM within the community. Two years since their founding, the team has been to over 40 community events in New Jersey, impacting over 70,000 people.
Questionable Engineering is a non-profit community-based FIRST Robotics Competition team based in Jersey City, New Jersey. The team consists of high school age students from all over Hudson County, representing 9 towns and 6 high schools across county.
The team fosters teamwork, collaboration and dedication. We are student driven team with the goals of making one great FRC robot, and have robotics accessible to everyone. If you have a passion for robots, coding, mechanics, media, and public speaking, and you are a high school student in Hudson County we encourage you to join our team.

"When you have a group of high school kids so determined to create a robotics program that they are willing to start one from nothing, you know you have some fearless competitors.”
